Polignano a Mare is a great central location for exploring the beautiful and fascinating towns of Puglia. And, Giovi Relais is a perfect spot to stay. d The hotel has an amazing location, right on Via Roma, the center of the historic district. The street is lined with shops and restaurants, and most charming - at night, it is lit with signs with the lyrics from "Volare" in honor of the iconic song and the great Domenico Modugno. The hotel is lovely, with very comfortable, clean rooms. The staff is absolutely delightful. And, as an amazing bonus, as a guest of the hotel, you are entitled to an exclusive, e-hour Wellness visit to their amazing spa. It is underground in a gorgeous stone cavern, very elegant and beautifully designed. Perfect spot for a stay in Puglia. Note: There is no parking at the hotel but there is a free lot very close by and street parking is easy.

Immediately adjacent to the old centre of Polignano, the hotel feels new, but styled on older local buildings, and using local materials. How often can you lay in bed, looking up at clamshell fossils in the stones of your arched ceiling? Our room (and the whole building, which features a spa in the cellar) felt calm and comfortable. The breakfast terrace was on the roof, with lovely views over the town, out to sea. Breakfast was reasonable - not the greatest selection in the world, but enough to keep you going until lunchtime. The nearest car-park is 6 or 7 minutes walk away, although if you know what you're doing, you can always stop briefly at the back door of the hotel to load/unload luggage. Staff very friendly and helpful.
